Gifts with fruit are shipped to be in transit for the fewest days possible. Therefore, gifts with fruit may not ship on the day you select. Gifts with fruit most often do not ship on Fridays and often do not ship on Thursdays (unless we are sure it will be delivered by Saturday). Gifts with fruit are most often held to ship on Mondays or Tuesdays. How to determine arrival date of your gift:
- Place your order before 2 pm EST* (Monday through Friday); this is Day Zero.
- Day One: the first business day after Day Zero
- Example: an order placed on Tuesday, 11 am EST will ship that day.
- Day Zero: order date/Tuesday
- Day One: Wednesday.
- Day Two: Thursday.
- Day Three: Friday. If shipping to a 4-day zone, this gift would arrive on Monday. (Saturdays and Sundays are not delivery days).
- *Orders placed after 2 pm EST are not processed until the next business day.
After your order is placed, each basket is made and then shipped Monday – Friday.
If you place your order before 2 pm EST (Monday-Friday), the gift should ship the same day. Orders placed after 2 pm EST (Monday-Friday) will ship the next business day. Please check our delivery map below for estimated delivery times.
Orders placed on Saturday and Sunday will ship the following Monday or the day you selected.
Ruma's ships gift baskets nationwide from our facility in the Boston area. The majority of our gift baskets are shipped via UPS or Fed Ex and you will receive a tracking number so that you can check the progress of your delivery.

To ensure freshness, perishable fruit baskets or fruit and gourmet baskets sent to the following states will be sent via an expedited 3 Day Select delivery:
Pertinent information needed for all orders:
- New Mexico
- North Dakota
- South Dakota
- Recipient's full name
- Recipient's complete address with zip code
- Pertinent delivery details, such as suite, floor, apartment #, "attention to", etc
- Recipient's phone number (will not be used by Ruma's for any marketing purpose; we will attempt to contact the recipient if we cannot find the address or have difficulty delivering your gift)
- Gift message with signature
- NOTE: Ruma's satisfaction guarantee does not extend to orders with incomplete/missing information.
Ruma's is not responsible for orders missing pertinent information (see above), a recipient who has transferred from a company or is on vacation, a recipient who has been discharged from hospital, or for company or school closings and/or all weather related incidents.
We are not responsible for wrong or incomplete addresses; re-ship charges apply
. We are not responsible for packages once they have been delivered.
As a general rule, we do not call the recipient prior to delivery. Signatures are not generally required for delivery. As a general rule Fed Ex/UPS drivers will leave a gift in a "safe, protected place." However, it is at the driver's discretion not to leave a package when he or she does not feel the package will be safe. Three delivery attempts are made before the package is returned to us. Reship charges apply as needed.
*NOTE: Shipping/delivery amount is calculated using the ship weight (not the net weight, which is shown); some gifts will be bumped into the next 'level' of shipping due to the packaging. If a basket is refused at delivery and is not damaged, we will refund your money when the gift is returned to us by UPS/Fed Ex.
